SUMMARY:Wechterswinkel Monastery: Exhibition Kloster erLEBEN - Women's lives in the Middle Ages
DESCRIPTION:In the Middle Ages\, the vast majority of the population lived in the countryside. Women carried out a variety of tasks in addition to the strenuous work in the fields: They prepared the daily meals\, washed clothes\, hauled water and made clothes for their families. The only way to escape the grueling cycle of childbearing and hard physical labor was to live in a monastery. It was only in the flourishing cities of the late Middle Ages that new opportunities opened up for women. Women were successful in trade\, they worked in many trades\, ran merchant stores or sold their products. The economic development of the cities\nhad a lasting effect on the position of women. The exhibition highlights the different roles of women in the Middle Ages. The many tasks that women had to perform are vividly illustrated\, from basket weaving to feather grinding\, from gathering herbs to brewing beer\n. \nThe exhibition “Women’s lives in the Middle Ages”\nwas conceived by the art historian\nDr. Alice Selinger\, Dreieich. \nSaturday\, 15.03.2025 to Sunday\, 22.06.2025 \nEXHIBITION\nThe exhibition is complemented by an accompanying program for different age groups\n. Further information will be available from March at www.kloster-wechterswinkel-\nkultur.de and in the Rhön-Grabfeld cultural calendar. \nWednesday – Sunday and public holidays from 13:00 – 17:00. \nWechterswinkel MonasteryUm den Bau 6\, Wechterswinkel\, Bastheim\, 97654 Bastheim OT Wechterswinkel

SUMMARY:City of Maulbronn: Exhibition "The cold heart" glass art by Kerstin Müllerperth
DESCRIPTION:The city of Maulbronn cordially invites you to the opening of the exhibition “The Cold Heart” glass art by Kerstin Müllerperth\non Friday\, May 30\, 2025 at 7.30 pm in the Maulbronn town hall (former fruit box of the Maulbronn monastery) \nWelcome\nMayor Aaron Treut\nIntroduction\nMartin Ehlers\, Maulbronn City Archives\nMusic\nMagdalena and\nMarina Müllerperth\, piano\nFollowed by a stand-up reception \nThe exhibition is open\nfrom May 31 to June 15\, 2025\nWeekdays: 13.00-17.00\nSaturday\, Sunday and public holidays:\n11.00-17.00 \nKerstin Müllerperth\, born in 1962\, comes from the Greiner-Perth glassblowing dynasty in Türingen and continues the family tradition\non her own artistic path. Her delicately designed glass – sometimes sober and cool\, sometimes Venetian and playful – has won prominent awards\n. In addition to the highest level of craftsmanship\, the art glassblower also needs the right intuition for the material in order to create glass pictures\nfrom her thoughts. The pictures in the exhibition are based on Wilhelm Hauff’s fairy tale “The Cold Heart”\, in which\, on the one hand\, the helpful little glass man promises redemption\nand\, on the other\, the glassworks becomes the epitome of failure. Kerstin Müllerperth takes us on a fairytale journey into the mystical\nBlack Forest of the last century with mysterious forest spirits and multi-layered characters. \nwww.muellerperth.de
