Explore the new exhibition on June 25, 2026 and enjoy regional specialties from the monastery landscape. <\/p>\n<p>The monastery landscape of the Cistercians of Zwettl is one of the best-preserved examples of a monastery landscape in the whole of Europe. Characteristic elements such as granges (farmyards) and ponds still shape its appearance today.<br \/>\nSome Cistercian monastic landscapes have been awarded the European Heritage Label since April 2024.<br \/>\nThe Cisterscapes project partners Vy\u0161\u0161\u00ed Brod in South Bohemia, Zwettl in the Waldviertel and \u017d\u010f\u00e1r nad S\u00e1zavou in the Viso\u010dina region are working particularly closely together as part of the Interreg project &#8220;ATCZ00007 &#8211; CISTERSCAPES VB-Zw-ZnS&#8221;.<br \/>\nVisitor centers are being built at all four project locations, which will provide information about the international Cisterscapes project, the European Heritage Label, the Cistercian monastery landscapes and the four Interreg partners and their cooperation.<br \/>\nThe exhibition at the Zwettl visitor center is dedicated to the traces left by the Cistercian monks in the monastery landscape.
