Living (more) sustainably is a central concern of the present day. In the Cistercian order, living with and from nature as well as the sensible use of regional resources was necessary to ensure the long-term success of the order. A museum case, which can be borrowed free of charge, uses three stations to show learners how the Cistercian monks achieved this. The materials also invite pupils to reflect critically on their own actions. Station 1: Cistercians shape the Stiftland Station 2: Living more sustainably – Cistercians as role models Station 3: Cistercian pond management – pioneering and sustainable The museum case contains the materials and digital media required for the stations. Depending on the age group and the time available, different methods can be used in subject lessons or as part of project days. The offer is free of charge and suitable for almost all school types and for children from the 4th grade. For more information and to register, call (09632) 9247349 or email martina.zanner@ikomstiftland.de This museum case was funded by the Bavarian State Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Forestry and the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development (EAFRD).
