Tour of Ebrach

In search of clues in the heart of the monastery landscape

We follow in the footsteps of the Cistercians, who once owned this region and left a lasting mark on it.

Date: May to October, every second Sunday
Time: 15:30 to 17:00

When you come to Ebrach, in the middle of the Steigerwald with its wild beech forests, you suddenly imagine yourself in a baroque residential town. Even though the former monastery has been home to a prison for over 150 years, traces of the once mighty self-sufficient monks can still be found everywhere.

In 2024, the Ebrach Monastery Landscape and its Cisterscapes network were awarded the European Heritage Label.
