In the footsteps of the monks in Zwettl On Saturday, October 5, 2024, the section in Zwettl will be ceremoniously opened. Before the actual ceremony, Abbot Fr. Johannes Maria Szypulski will give a pilgrimage blessing at 10 a.m. in the . After the unveiling of a stele, guests accompanied by a hiking guide follow in the footsteps of the Cistercian monks on a circular trail through the abbey woods. At the same time, visitors with limited mobility can take a guided walk through the barrier-free gardens of Zwettl Abbey and learn lots of interesting facts about the cultural heritage and the monks’ approach to nature. Participation in the event is open to the public and free of charge.
