Wechterswinkel Monastery: Medieval festival

For the second time, a medieval festival will be held in and around Wechterswinkel Monastery to coincide with the medieval exhibition. Medieval folk set up camp around the barn and in the courtyard . Some craftsmen even invite visitors to join in and try out their skills. Knights are also guests, explaining the various weapons and demonstrating their spectacular martial art . On the adjacent meadow, visitors can immerse themselves in the world of jugglers and try their hand at artistic skills under supervision. A variety of medieval games are waiting to be discovered. All kinds of traders come together and offer their wares for sale. Minstrels frame the medieval festival musically with their instruments. There will also be plenty of culinary delights on offer. The exhibition "Women's lives in the Middle Ages" on the first floor of the monastery will be open during the event. Guided tours will take place on both days. Zwettl Abbey starts the new tourist season on Palm Sunday. From now on, guided tours of the monastery will once again take place daily.
