Linger and enjoy the monastery landscape! Throughout the seasons, a total of ten landscape frames in Stiftland invite you to pause and take in a section of the landscape set in a kind of picture frame. The aim is not only to convey the beauty of the monastery landscape shaped by the Cistercians over the centuries, but also to make visitors aware that the work of the monks was not only concentrated in the monastery town of Waldsassen. This is emphasized by the frame inscription “My Stiftland”. Only two frames draw attention to the monastery in Waldsassen. If you would like to know more about the history of the Cistercians in Stiftland, you will find a reference to the audio guide “Cistercians in Stiftland” on the frames. These landscape frames and the multilingual audio guide were funded by the Bavarian State Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Forestry and the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development (EAFRD).
