Zwettl Monastery Zwettl Abbey 1, Zwettl, Lower Austria, ÖsterreichZwettl Abbey starts the new tourist season on Palm Sunday. From now on, guided tours of the monastery will once again take place daily. On tour three, which leads into the baroque library with its magnificent frescoes by Paul Troger, visitors can also see the special exhibition "Cisterscapes - we are European cultural heritage".

In fall 2024, this presentation will be freely accessible to all interested parties. The exhibition is accompanied by materials for different age groups, which can be used to playfully explore the elements of a monastery landscape. Curious?

Maria Bildhausen Monastery Maria Bildhausen 1, Münnerstadt, DeutschlandGermany sings and sounds Concert on the Day of German Unity at Maria Bildhausen Monastery We look forward to welcoming you on Thursday, 03.10.2025 from 6 p.m. at Maria Bildhausen Monastery. The "Germany sings and sounds" initiative was launched in 2020 with the involvement of Günther Beckstein (former Bavarian Minister President) and has taken place every year since then on October 3. This year, for the first time, the Barbara Stamm Academy is organizing the concert together with the Dominikus-Ringeisen-Werk and the choir "Capella Nova" under the direction of Carsten Krüger. Guided tours in Ebrach If you come to Ebrach, you suddenly imagine yourself in the middle of the Steigerwald in a baroque residential town. We follow in the footsteps of the gray monks who owned this region. Even though the former monastery has been home to a prison for over 150 years, traces of the once mighty self-sufficient monks can still be found everywhere. In 2024, the Ebrach monastery landscape was awarded the European Heritage Label. Follow in the footsteps of the Cistercians with us and find out why! Cistercian market Koppenwind
Koppenwind Castle Rauhenebrach, DeutschlandOn Sunday, 12.10.25, 10 am - 6 pm, our Cisterscapes project will be represented with a stand at the Cistercian market in Koppenwind. The market will take place on the village square and in the courtyard of the castle. You can expect around 35 market stalls with all kinds of goodies and useful items, monastery products from the Cisterscapes partner sites will be presented and marketed, there will be a children's program and entertainment will be provided by the threshing group from Treppendorf and the Ebrachtal hunting horn players.

Waldsassen House of ArtThe Abbey Library in Waldsassen Studies on history, inventory and reception Book presentation by Dr. Georg Schrott, Sprockhövel, and Christian Malzer M.A., Würzburg Venue: Waldsassen, Kunsthaus Waldsassen, Kunstgasse 1 The Waldsassen Abbey Library is a double phenomenon: as the famous hall with its life-size limewood atlases, the interpretation of which has still not come to a definite conclusion; and of course as the book collection, which was transferred to the Amberg Provincial Library after secularization. In the current volume of research, new questions have been raised about the expressive intention of the artistic decoration and new theories have been developed about the prehistory of the hall. The baroque library catalog and the surviving books were examined under various aspects. Free admission.
