We are pleased to inform you that Slovene Museum of Christianity has initiated a joint project with European Heritage Volunteers: the EHV Training Course will take place in Stična this August.

The project at Stična Monastery will include twelve young volunteers from all over the Europe and focus on the conservation and restoration of historic stone surfaces, integrating practical conservation work with a comprehensive educational programme.

Various similar activities within the Slovene Museum of Christianity and the EHV will be part of the accompanying agenda, including a main event with a presentation of the project, scheduled for August 7 in the afternoon (more information will follow).

Participants will also visit our partners in the Božidar Jakac Art Museum and former Cistercian monastery in Kostanjevica na Krki and learn about the wider context of the Cistercian heritage and the significance of the Cistercian Order, both in the past and in the present.

The project is made possible with the support of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Slovenia, Cistercian Abbey Stična, European Heritage Volunteers and European Heritage Label Bureau.
